It dawned on me, while standing behind the owner of a very swishy ponytail as I exited the tube, that I never really get excited by shampoo. If someone approaches with a cracking red lip, I'll swoop straight in for the shade. Ditto a fresh blusher or an enticing perfume. You name it, I want details. Shampoo? Mmm. Not so much.
This woman, though, she was doing something right. No dried-out strands, no peeling split ends, no frazzled flyaways. Just ultra glossy, beautiful-looking hair. Well done that woman. So, I tapped her up for details to pass the secret along (you're welcome). It was the Momo shampoo from Davines. Makes sense – they started off as a salon-only brand.
A carefully chosen conditioner is exactly the salvation post-summer hair needsNow that we're deep in the middle of winter (with colder weather on the way), it's more important than ever to pick a shampoo (and conditioner) that works to undo the damage done by the elements (plunging temperatures, lashing wind, pollution, central heating etc) all of which can leave our hair coarse and dehydrated. In particular, it's worth looking out for extra nourishing ingredients that are rich in keratin (the protein behind healthy hair) like argan oil and almond oil as well as moisturising avocado oil and coconut milk.
